Hello fellow readers! For this week's artist feature, we have Klara! She is an amazing painter and artist who loves to bring meaning into her art pieces! Let us move on to the interview to get to know more about her!
1. What is your name, age, and location?
My name is Klara, I'm 18, from Budapest, Hungary. I'm a young aspiring artist who has a passion for painting things inspired by nature, girls, or cute things in general! I mostly use watercolors, but I like to try out different mediums. My dream is to have an online shop one day or even live as a freelance illustrator!
2. How did you first get into painting?
When I was little I watched a lot of cartoon movies and after a while, I tried to draw the characters I saw. I only got back into drawing/painting regularly around a year ago, so that's when I started to make art a priority.
3. Who or what are your biggest inspirations that motivate you?
My biggest inspirations are some great Instagram artists, such as @bigbluetang (Dory), @leighellexson, @palomathepeach, @sibylline_m
Also, some great masters, such as Boticelli, Monet, Van Gogh, or Thomas Lawrence.
4. How do you plan on using your artistic skills to spread awareness or make a difference in the world?
I'm still working on interpreting meaning into my art, so I can address current issues more. On my Instagram page (which is @klara.s.art ), I share information and resources regarding different issues every now and then. I also believe that doing what you love and just being kind is a way to make this world a better place so I encourage people to do so and I try to live by that myself too.
5. What is your favorite piece of art that you have created so far?
My favorite artwork of mine must be the painting I attached named "Rose" in the file. It doesn't have a title, because I just love how expressive and mysterious it is, and I'd like people to think about its meaning. It is a piece I enjoyed creating the most in these last few months and I think the colors and the overall vibe of the illustration is something that I haven't created yet.
6. What are your current or future goals?
My current goal is to keep up with art while being in school, and as I previously said, giving a slight meaning to my pieces is something I'm constantly working on. A huge future goal would be opening a shop where I can sell stickers, prints, charms, etc. I just find it so fascinating and love having other artists work too!
7. If you had the opportunity to spend a day with your favorite artist, who would it be and why?
For my biggest inspiration, I'd say Sibylline Meynet. She has a very outstanding style and she seems like a really nice person! She knows a lot about finding your style, expressing yourself, and running an online shop, so I'd love to get the chance to sit down and chat with her!
8. Do you have any advice or tips for people that are interested in art?
My advice for any artists getting started is: you have to be patient with yourself and practice a lot! It took a while for me to figure out that loving my art first and enjoying the process itself is the key to making art others will love! And as everyone says, practice makes perfect, and if you're struggling with anything, just draw it more until you know your subject!
